What is ZEN Meditation?

Among other things, ZEN is a special contemplative form of meditation, called “Zazen”.
It consists of the following features:

-Sitting meditation
ZEN is practiced with an upright sitting posture.

-Silent meditation
In ZEN, meditation is carried out silently, without escaping from the world.

-Depth meditation
In ZEN, meditation takes place from without to within, from distraction to composure, and from the surface to deep inside.

-Meditation beyond objective reality
In ZEN, we pay no attention to particular objects when meditating and use no words or concepts.

-Contemplation and invitation
In ZEN, we experience profound states of meditation, in which we let go of everything and open ourselves to emptiness, “inviting” it into ourselves.

Why ZEN Meditation?

The practice of ZEN influences the

- mental - physical realm
One becomes more relaxed and more creative. He finds peace and simply learns to be a “human being” again.

-Social – ethical realm
One becomes more open; he can encounter himself and his fellow men in a new way.

-Spiritual realm
One finds the answer to questions like “Who am I?”, “Why am I like I am?”, or “What is the meaning of life?” And he can find enlightenment and Nirvana.
